I have decided to start a novel writing group in November, unconsciously following the NaNoWriMo recommendations, although they are totally unknown in France.
I am starting reading lots of stuff on novel writing and found this article. I do not know much about the snowflake method, but I look forward to finding out what it is. I know there is a software you can buy to work with the snowflake method but you can still use the method without it. This is not a sponsored article; I have just been browsing the internet in search of information on novel writing!

I have never heard of this method – but it looks really useful. I have started NanoWriMo four times but only finished once. I kept writing myself in to a corner and couldn’t figure out how to get out of it. The Snowflake method would definitely keep that from happening.
By the way, I have been in a writing group for several years. We meet once a week and bring copies of work we want critiqued. It is a great motivational tool, and a lot of fun. One key point-we start out by writing “Brilliant” on the top of everybody’s writing. That way we make sure it all stays positive.
Thanks for the education. Good luck and good writing.
